Cádiz and Jerez de la Frontera
A day which combines the wine excellence of Jerez with the history and Atlantic charm of Cadiz
We will pick you up at your hotel in Seville at 9:00 a.m. to enjoy a tour that combines the wine tradition of Jerez with the Atlantic history of Cádiz.
The first stop will be in Jerez de la Frontera, the world capital of sherry. Here we will take a private tour of one of its most prestigious wineries, where we will learn about the criaderas and soleras system, a unique ageing method that has made these wines internationally famous. During the experience, we will discover the different styles, from the most delicate fino to the intense olorosos and the unmistakable Pedro Ximénez, culminating in an exclusive guided tasting.
We will continue on to Cadiz, the oldest city in the West, founded by the Phoenicians over 3,000 years ago. Its historic centre, almost completely surrounded by the sea, retains a layout of narrow streets and squares open to the Atlantic breeze. We will stroll through the New Cathedral, the Roman Theatre and the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, and visit the La Viña neighbourhood, the heart of the Cádiz carnival. From the Tavira Tower, with its camera obscura, we will enjoy an unforgettable panoramic view of the city and the ocean.
At midday, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant by the sea, where we will sample the best of Cadiz’s cuisine: fried fish, fresh seafood and traditional dishes made with the finest produce from the Atlantic.
In the afternoon, we will complete our tour of Cadiz with a walk along the seafront promenade and through Genovés Park, one of the most beautiful gardens in Andalusia, before heading back to Seville.
We are scheduled to arrive at around 6.30 pm, after a day combining the wine excellence of Jerez with the history and Atlantic charm of Cadiz.
